Larry Warren

ARTIST BIO

Born in 1957 and raised on a rural farm south of Whitehorse, Yukon, Larry Warren’s life has been shaped by the untamed beauty of the wilderness. From an early age, nature was his constant companion, instilling in him a deep appreciation for the land and its raw artistry.

Upon graduating high school, Larry pursued a career as a big game guide, immersing himself in the landscapes that had always inspired him. Over the years, he worked in logging, the oil industry, cowboying, and rodeo, but always returned to the mountains for the fall hunting season-a passion that led to a remarkable 46-year career in the guide outfitting industry.

In 1980, his creative aspirations took center stage. Driven by an insatiable urge to master the leather trade, he spent a year in Oklahoma learning the craft of custom boots and saddle making. His talent for intricate floral leather carving soon became a defining element of his work, blending traditional craftsmanship with artistic expression.

Larry’s familiarity with horns and antlers, combined with his expertise in floral patterns, evolved into his unique artistic vision. Each horn or antler holds a hidden masterpiece, waiting to be revealed through his meticulous carving process. His approach transforms natural materials into stunning works of art, capturing the essence of the wilderness in every piece.

Now based in Stettler, Canada, Larry continues to refine his craft, creating one-of-a-kind designs that celebrate the beauty of nature. His work has gained recognition for its originality and artistry, earning admiration from collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Through his dedication to craftsmanship and his deep connection to the land, Larry Warren unveils the hidden stories within nature, turning raw materials into timeless expressions of art.
