TEXAS TWO-STEP
Monument, 12.5’H x 13’L x 7’D, Limited Ed. of 7 – Created 2005
(Cabela’s location in Fort Worth, Texas)
In 2005, Vic Payne unveiled a 12.5 foot tall bronze monument titled ‘Texas Two Step’ at Cabela’s Fort Worth, Texas location. This dynamic sculpture captures a moment of high-stakes cowboy ingenuity and wild action.
This sculpture portrays a vivid scene from the American West, where our Texas cowpuncher finds himself in a tight spot. If the game warden happened upon this scene today, it’d be a whole lot worse. Driven by a dash of Texas spirit and fueled by determination, the cowboy hatches a daring plan; roping a whitetail buck that had eluded him during past few hunting seasons. As the cowboy deftly throws his lasso, the formidable Texas buck was none too happy, then those bobwhites blew up, and the real rodeo began.
Vic Payne’s attention to detail, storytelling prowess, and skillful bronze artistry breathe life into this captivating scenario. The interplay of textures, the sinewy muscles of both man and beast, and the palpable tension all contribute to the sculpture’s impact. If you ever find yourself near Cabela’s Fort Worth, take a moment to appreciate this monumental work. It stands as a tribute to the frontier spirit, the fortitude of those who shaped the West, and the artistry of my husband that brings their stories to life!
