A MAGICAL WEEKEND WITH THE JAMES MUSEUM

The Buffalo Art Show & Sale and Vic Payne Artist Dinner

This past weekend, Cody and Meeteetse, Wyoming, were abuzz with excitement as we welcomed The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art from St. Petersburg, FL, for a fun-filled art weekend!

The Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale kicked off on Friday night, drawing more than 625 registered attendees to the large white party tent, creating a truly magical atmosphere. The Live Auction was wildly successful, raising over $1.45 million in its 43rd year. This celebration of Western art was enjoyed by The James Museum’s founders, Tom and Mary James, Deputy Director for Development & Communications, Debbie Sokolov, and fellow James Museum patrons, Bill Eshenbaugh and Lynda Keever, James Museum Docent Selena Holmes and her husband Gary Holmes, Shane and Carol Platt, and Jeff and Sandy Lawrence. Their presence added an extra layer of excitement to the weekend, highlighting the strong bonds within the Western art community.

The weekend culminated with an exclusive dinner at Vic Payne Studio & Gallery in Meeteetse, WY, on Saturday night. This intimate gathering provided a unique opportunity for fellow art enthusiasts to spend an evening with Vic, enjoying the ‘art’ of food, libations, and camaraderie while sharing a passion for Western and wildlife art. The evening was filled with storytelling, laughter, and inspiration, making it a night that Vic and I will never forget. Through art, friendships have been forged and blossomed into beautiful works of art that fill our hearts with joy. These friendships are irreplaceable.

A heartfelt thank you to Tom, Mary, Debbie, all the fellow James Museum patrons, Chuck & Susan Jenkins, Mark Jennings, and Tammy Callens who visited Cody and Meeteetse this past weekend.

We look forward to many more magical moments in the future! ~ Ang, Vic, and the Payne family
