During the history of humanity, there are events in the lives of humans that are unchanged by the hands of time. This steady generational revolving has been in motion since the beginning of time. These events are in general common to all humans from all cultures of life.
In my own thoughts, these events are most all the time of an emotional type that are truly life changing. In recent years, as my own children began to leave our home and start their own adventures in life there have been many nights of worry about their decisions and most of all their safety. But as it has always been, this is a necessary move for their own personal identification and growth. However, there are still those worries that we have for our loved ones as they come to different crossroads in life.
One night while reading an old Will James book, I came across a passage about a young man setting out on his own to the Chisholm Trail. He was changing range leaving the home country in search for his dream. It would most likely be several years before his father would hear the good or bad news of his son’s adventures. His thoughts would most likely be pointed toward a distant hill looking forward to his son’s return. The time comes for all of us when we too are at life’s crossroads and are ‘Changin’ Range.’
